The Situation
Gravel road and highway debris can scar and chip new fiberglass and aluminum siding on an RV. The smooth, beautiful finish quickly deteriorates the value on your new purchase. Dulling and fading can be increased by exposure to extreme sunlight, air pollutants and excessive moisture.
RVs are made to explore the countryside and spend the majority of their lives in the elements. Prolonged exposure can deteriorate the surface of the roof and siding causing cracks or other physical damage which must be repaired. Such damage, especially if exposed to moisture, could cause leaking and problems with interior walls and components.
RVs owners must take care to preserve and extend the life of RV exterior areas, particularly the roof and side panels to prevent damage.
The Solution
To avoid scratches and chips that could potentially damage the siding, a LINE-X coating was added to the rocker panels and fender flares.
LINE-X protective coatings are specialized, high-performance spray-on elastomeric coatings engineered to ensure long-lasting protection to virtually any surface. On the exterior of a vehicle, LINE-X offers impact and abrasion resistance as well as protection from corrosion.
LINE-X coatings can be colour coded to match a specific automotive paint. To ensure the colour stays true, UV stability is also added.
To ensure proper adhesion, the area to be sprayed was thoroughly cleaned and prepped prior to the LINE-X application. On used or damaged areas, cracks and holes are filled and repaired.
The Results
LINE-X offers a seamless, durable coating ideal for resisting rocks, debris or UV damage.
With a LINE-X application, this RV is better protected for road travel. The owner is very pleased with the look, professional installation and reduced maintenance costs.
